Deze banken werden geschonken door de familie van William  Roy Greenslade AFC, DFC,
Canadese squadronleader en piloot van de Short Stirling bommenwerper
die hier op 2 oktober 1942 is neergestort .

Tijdens de onthulling van dit monument op 7 oktober 2017 sprak
Mrs. Trish Wallace -Parker,  nicht van de piloot onderstaand gedicht uit.

FOR THE FALLEN
They shell not grow old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
